The Interfraternity Council Executive Board is comprised of eight individuals from any chapter currently recognized by Northern Illinois University. Elections are held at the end of the fall semester every year and terms last one full year.
Officers of the Executive Board must have a minimum 2.5 semester and cumulative GPA while they are in office. They are expected to represent Greek Life as a whole at NIU and work towards furthering it.
The IFC President is responsible for the operations of the IFC, its programs and officers. He must preside over all meetings, report to the National Interfraternity Conference, serve as a liaison to various university administrators, meet with each chapter president at least twice a year, appoint special committees, prepare a semesterly evaluation of IFC officers and of the IFC and serve as the sole liaison to any outside media source along with many other activities.
The Executive Vice President acts as the President in his temporary absence. He also serves as the liaison to the NPHC, CPC and MGC. He serves as a liaison with the IFC Judicial Board and is an ex-officio member. The Executive Vice President coordinates the MGC/Jellison awards and assists the Vice President of Risk Management during patrols of Greek Row during IFC events.
The Vice President of Risk Management is responsible for coordinating social policy training, risk management workshops, Greek Activities Patrols and educational programs. He also is responsible for acting as the police liaison, designing and implementing risk management systems and working with the Vice President of Finance on any financial obligations to outside security contractors.
The Vice President of Finance is responsible for developing and maintaining a Greek scholarship program, as well as preparing a budget in cooperation with the Student Association and applying for annual funding. He also is responsible for collecting all payments responsible to the IFC and paying all bills.
The Vice President of Recruitment is responsible for coordinating all fraternity-wide recruitment programs, recommend recruitment programs to the Board. He also is responsible for aiding member fraternities with their own recruitment programs, maintaining an active recruitment list of potential new members for each fraternity.
The Vice President of Public Relations is responsible for: assisting the CPC Vice President of Public Relations in developing a strategy to promote Greek Life; designing materials benefit the fraternity community; overseeing the IFC website; and meeting with the Northern Star on a bi-weekly basis.
The Vice President of Administration is responsible for: serving as the secretary for all IFC meetings, maintaining said minutes and distributing them to interested parties; scheduling meeting rooms; and scheduling monthly scholarship chair roundtables as well as other responsibilities.
The Vice President of Community Events is responsible for promoting Greek unity through events geared toward including the entire community as well as keeping data on the All Sports Points and award the All Sport Trophy. He also is responsible for coordinating IFC Tugs.
